I have noticed a lot of downloads of my mp3 of Raks Al Hayet (Dance of Life) by George Abdo, so I thought it would be good to put up a post letting people know that his 1976 Monitor label release “Belly Dancing With George Abdo” is now available for download (and on CD) from Smithsonian Folkways as part of the Smithsonian Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage. This excellent recording from 1976 features Bouzouki; Cymbals; Guitar; Oboe; Oud; Qanun and Violin.
