Thank you Rugrat for bringing this project and recording to my attention! It's a superb collection --- contemporary and street smart, rich in poetics and rhythm, surprisingly musical in a way that I wouldn't have expected, and passionate as well --- with a focus that raises it above a mere compilation of poets and musicians. Irvine's recorded legacy deserves a major overhaul, as most all of his work is presently out-of-print, including The Amadou Project. Why that hasn't happened is nearly as tragic the the story behind the killing of Amadou.
