Les Paul & Mary Ford – All-Time Greatest Hits

For good or bad, Les Paul is the engineering wiz-kid who helped usher in a whole new era of recorded music, being an innovator of guitar design, multi-track recording, overdubbing, studio effects, and more. Paul did a lot of tinkering in his home shop and studio, and even rigged up a microphone in the kitchen so that he could record his wife Mary singing while she did the dishes. Les was involved in a car accident in the 1950s and almost lost his arm. The doctors set it at a permanent 90 degree angle so that he could continue to play guitar. At 93, he is still playing weekly at the Iridium jazz Club in New York City. This collection features the hits of this 1950s pop duo, featuring Paul’s recording techniques and playing style.
